London Club Gets No-Go
- Proposals for new club rejected in face of residents complaints

PLANS for a new London nightclub have been scuppered after residents protested in fear of potential drug use.

The Pacha Group, famous for their legendary Ibiza superclub, aimed to open its first UK branch in a 500 capacity venue underneath the Centre Point building in Tottenham Court Road. But Highbury Court deemed it would be unfair to local residents, who voiced concerns of noise and abusive behaviour as well as drugs.

Speaking about his decision to reject the application, Judge Eastman said: "I'm satisfied that no matter how good a brand, a club for 500 people in this location will affect the residents in the area."

Pacha, which own a string of clubs throughout Europe and South America as well as Ibiza, have said they will appeal against the decision.
