Kiss Me Kate Puckers Up to Theatreland
- Victoria Palace woos Cole Porter's hit musical

KISS ME KATE transfers from Broadway to the Victoria Palace this October. The retelling of Shakespeare's Taming of the Shrew won five Tony Awards last year, including Best Revival and Best Director, and comes from New York complete with most of the show's original stars.

Currently home to the award-winning musical Fame, the Victoria Palace is no stranger to crowd pleasers. Cole Porter's fresh take on Shakespeare's tale of Kate and Petruchio's rocky love affair draws on Gershwin's tradition of American musicals to popularise the bard.

A far cry from the RSC's recent staging of the Taming of the Shrew in a Prodigy-playing club, this rock and roll extravaganza is steeped in the fashions of the 1950s. The show looks set to embrace the spirit of its songs with a collection of cheeky little numbers like, Brush up your Shakespeare, and Always True to you in my Fashion.
