- Fantasy adventurer makes Net debut
TIME-TRAVEL boffin Dr Who is to be resurrected by the BBC - but this time his travels will be broadcast via the Internet instead of the small screen.
From next month, fans will be able to log on and hear a radio play featuring the voice of Sylvester McCoy who was the last to play the Doctor in the TV series. The play was written for Radio 4 but never saw the light of the airwaves.
Billed as the first piece of drama broadcast purely online, the play will be the first Dr Who broadcast by the BBC since the TV movie in 1996. The episode, titled The Death Of Time, will also offer web-users the chance to vote on whether Dr Who should return to TV.
Rumour had it that the time-traveller was to be brought to the Silver Screen, but as yet there have been no further developments on the project.
