Driver Walks The Walk
- High Heels and Lowlifes star dons stilettos for UK premiere

ON-AND-OFF screen buddies Minnie Driver and Mary McCormack turned out suitably dressed for the UK premier of their film High Heels and Lowlifes - by wearing stiletto heels.

British-born Driver and American McCormack were present at the event, along with director Mel Smith, which took place in London's Leicester Square last night. Driver said about the pair's decision to wear high heeled shoes: "We're tall birds anyway but you can never be tall enough."

Filmed on location in North London, High Heels and Lowlifes is a comedy thriller in which Driver and McCormack play two friends who overhear a mobile conversation about a bank raid and then decide to blackmail the robbers. The film also stars Kevin McNally and Michael Gambon as the bad guys.

Director Mel Smith, whose previous films include Mr Bean, trumpeted that High Heels and Lowlifes was the best film of his career so far. "It's a comedy-thriller and there are a lot of laughs, but if you take the laughs out, I'd like to think there's still a lot there, " he said. "For what it's worth I'm very proud of it."
