Brit-Pop Stars Launch London Club Night
- Pulp to host their own Disco 2001

BASTIONS of 90s Brit-pop, Pulp, have announced they are to set up their own club night in London.

Charismatic singer Jarvis Cocker and fellow band-mate Steve Mackey are organising the night, called Desperate, which will launch at an undisclosed venue on July 20.

The event was originally planned as a one-off at the dance-orientated festival Homelands, which Pulp co-headlined earlier this year. Now the decision has been made to take the club into the capital, with plans to hold it on a monthly basis with live bands and DJs.

Meanwhile a new Pulp track, Sunrise, has wormed its way into selected record shops in the UK. However, the single hasn't even been officially released yet and may have a different title on its launch, slated around October.
