Lara Croft Raids London Stage
- Angelina Jolie to make West End debut as Ophelia

TOMB RAIDER star Angelina Jolie is gearing up to appear on the London stage - in a Shakespeare play.

Jolie will leave her action persona behind when she makes her West End debut as meek Ophelia in a new production of Hamlet, which will be directed by her younger brother James Voight.

The 24-year-old star, currently enjoying box-office success with the computer-game flick Tomb Raider, is the latest Hollywood actress to tread the boards of the London stage, following in the footsteps of Amanda Donahue, Kathleen Turner, Nicole Kidman and Daryl Hannah.

Her actor-father Jon Voight, who stars alongside Jolie in Tomb Raider, said: "I'm sure if she decides to play Ophelia she will be a success."
