|Hotheaded Madonna Storms Out of Hotel
- Material girl loses her cool after air-conditioning packs up
SOARING temperatures caused tempers to flare as Madonna stormed out of her luxury hotel in a huff over poor air-conditioning.
The Queen of Pop and hubbie Guy Ritchie were staying at the UKP3,200 per night suite at London's five star Berkley Hotel on the eve of her first gig at Earls Court, when the heat got too much for the superstar.
Madonna and Guy upped and left the hotel in Belgravia and headed for the slightly cheaper option, Claridge's, where a room cost UKP2,200 a night. "It was too hot and Madonna and Guy left in the middle of the night. They kept both suites but decided they would check out of both hotels on Thursday," said a close source to the singer.
Berkley staff admitted that the cooling system wasn't working properly. "The air conditioning was playing up and it was getting very sticky," a worker said.
Earlier this year Madonna and film director husband Guy Ritchie splashed out a cool UKP6 million on a listed Georgian mansion in Westminster. And Mads declared her allegiance to her adopted home before 16,000 fans at her first UK gig at Earls Court last night, by declaring "God Save The Queen."
