One Hell Of A Movie For Eddie
- Brash comic gets sent to purgatory in new film

WACKY comic Eddie Izzard gets sent straight to hell in his next film, a Hollywood production called The Other Billy Drake.

London-born Izzard will play a dim-witted burglar who accidentally dies when robbing an old folks home. He goes to hell but is diverted to heaven by mistake because he has only broken seven of the Ten Commandments. He is then given one week on earth to prove himself evil enough to go to hell by breaking the remaining three commandments.

The comedian, who picked up two Emmy awards last year, is no stranger to movie-dom, having starred in glam rock flick Velvet Goldmine and the film version of the 70s TV show The Avengers. He has just finished making his latest film, All The Queen's Men.

A spokesperson for the comic said, "Eddie is absolutely thrilled to be in demand. Everything has happened so quickly for him."

Izzard is currently taking a two-year break from the stand-up circuit.
