Britpack Reclaims the West End
- UK film stars set their sights on the stage

EWAN McGREGOR, Jude Law and other British actors have signed a deal with the New Ambassador's Theatre Group to produce West End plays.

McGregor said plans were afoot to commission new plays and adapt classics under the umbrella of the group's Natural Nylon company which already produces movies.

In a counter to the US invasion of the West End stage by actors like Daryl Hannah, Kathleen Turner and Macaulay Culkin, Natural Nylon will draw on UK writing, directing and acting talent.

McGregor's acclaimed performance in Trainspotting and Jude Law's forthcoming collaboration with established director Sam Mendes look set to secure the company's profile. "This is all about getting British actors in British productions," said a spokesperson
