Brothel Madams Con the Royal Set
- Queen met vice duo at horse show

IN A PLOT that could have come straight from the pages of a PG Wodehouse novel, Royal hangers-on were conned into handing over thousands of pounds to two brothel madams, a London court heard yesterday.

Evelyn Burton, 56, and Lyla Andre, 50, ingratiated themselves with the high society horse set, met the Queen at one horse show and managed to persuade Her Majesty's former equerry, Michael Bullen, to cough up UKP60,000 to their phantom business scheme, Wood Green Crown Court was told.

Overall, UKP550,000 was invested in the lesbian couple's businesses which included a brothel called Magic Moments. After Burton and Andre found themselves heavily in debt they flew to New Zealand but were caught by Fraud Squad investigators. Both women were convicted after pleading guilty to charges ranging from conspiracy to defraud to dishonestly retaining a wrongful credit and have been bailed until a sentencing hearing on February 9th.
