| Prince Crowns McQueen King
- Charles is guest of honour at fashion awards PRINCE CHARLES helped the royal family re-engage with high fashion last night as guest of honour at the British Fashion Awards in Battersea Park. Since the death of Princess Diana three years ago, the royals have been out of the fashion limelight. Alexander McQueen welcomed Charles into the fold with a joke, when the Prince handed London's leading tailor his third British Designer of the Year Award. "It's ironic I'm here winning this award," McQueen said, "when I used to make his suits." Charles caught the jokey mood, telling his audience: "I am surprised that you have invited me here - I was once nominated as one of the worst-dressed people." Other award winners included Kate Moss for British Model of the Year and Stella McCartney for New Generation Designer. |
