Donohoe Dons Birthday Suit
- Law Graduate is the new Mrs Robinson

AMANDA DONAHOE stars in the Graduate at the Gielgud Theatre from this evening. Taking her cue from predecessors Kathleen Turner and Jerry Hall, the Golden Globe award winner looks set to bare all as the woman who seduces her daughter's lover.

Terry Johnson's version of Charles Webb's novel The Graduate offers a new take on the screenplay that made Dustin Hoffman famous. Although best known as the sassy barrister in the hit series LA Law, Donohoe's performance in a screen version of D.H. Lawrences The Rainbow and her West End debut in Snoo Wilson's HRH, as well as her first major movie role in Castaway, when she stayed naked for virtually the entire running time, prepared her for the part.

Donohoe's replacement of model Hall heralds the stage triumph of experienced actresses over untrained celebrities. Brookside star Anna Friel's forthcoming role in the Almeida's Lulu confirms the trend.
