| A Big Hand for Adventures in Motion Pictures
- London's leading dance company takes on Edward Scissorhands ADVENTURES IN MOTION PICTURES have announced plans to adapt Tim Burton's Edward Scissorhands. The dance premiere is scheduled for March 2002 at the company's new permanent home, the Old Vic. The production marks a departure from AMP's reputation for reinterpreting classics like Cinderella and The Nutcracker. A far cry from the award-winning all-male Swan Lake which made the company's name, Burton's black fairy tale tells of a kind-hearted freak whose scissors for hands end up messing with a small town's mentality. However AMP are no stranger to film, having featured in the smash hit Billy Elliot. Furthermore they have struck up a partnership with Channel 4 to have their work aired. Edward Scissorhands builds on their reputation for dazzling a non-dance audience with choreography. |
