|Dallas Star Graduates To The Stage
- Linda Gray is the next Mrs Robinson
LINDA GRAY, once Sue Ellen in Dallas, has earnt a shot at West End stardom as Mrs Robinson in The Graduate. Gray replaces Anne Archer of Fatal Attraction fame from October 1 at the Gielguld Theatre, following in the footsteps of Amanda Donahoe, Jerry Hall and Kathleen Turner.
Though Gray is best known for her lip-quivering performance as JR's long-suffering wife in Dallas, she actually first shot to some kind of fame through the movie version of The Graduate back in 1967, when her leg was used in the film's poster ad.
Gray, 60, has also starred in the TV series Melrose Place, Models Inc, and Lovejoy. On the stage she has performed in the controversial Vagina Monologues, and her most unusual credit is one she shares with the late Audrey Hepburn as Ambassador of Goodwill for the United Nations.
The Graduate offers Gray another chance to seduce an audience. Set in California in a sixties Summer, director Terry Johnson's adaptation of the novel which inspired the award-winning film tells of one graduate's dangerous liaisons with his girlfriend's mother.
