| Coldplay Snub Sly Stallone
- Brit-rockers refuse to let Hollywood star use their songs in new film BRIT Indie-rockers Coldplay have shunned Hollywood star Sylvester Stallone by refusing him permission to use one of their songs in his new film. The actor wanted to use the song Trouble, taken from the band's mega-selling album Parachutes, on the soundtrack to the movie Driven. Stallone even called the band up personally for his request. But Coldplay turned him down on the grounds that the song would not be suitable for his film. "It was very flattering but we turned him down because we just didn't think it was appropriate to the film. We have had quite a few offers but we haven't decided on one yet, " said Drummer Will Champion. Coldplay are just finishing up the follow-up to the Mercury Prize nominated Parachutes. The band play this weekend's V2001 festival in Chelmsford. To book tickets via LondonNet go to: http://www.londonnet.co.uk/ln/out/music/festivals.html |
