Gorillas Go Ape Over Monkey Movie
- Planet of The Apes gets first UK screening at Adventure Park

PLANET OF THGE APES was given its first UK screening in front of a family of gorillas - and the simian audience went bananas over it.
Zoo keepers at Chessington World of Adventures showed clips from the film, which reportedly caused the animals to beat their chests in excitement.

Headkeeper Chris Anscombe said: "At first they were a bit tentative about the TV being there - then curiosity got the better of them. By the end they were jumping as if they wanted to be in the front row of the cinema."

The park's gorilla enclosure has been swamped with visitors as a result of publicity for the Tim Burton directed ape flick. "Interest in the gorillas has been unprecedented because of all the talk about the film," said Anscombe. "It's choc-a-bloc with humans outside their cage. We thought we'd show the animals what all the fuss was about."
Planet of The Apes opens in London on August 17.
