Assemble in the Underworld
- Frantic Assembly's West End show subverts the norm

FRANTIC ASSEMBLY's latest extravaganza opens tonight at the Lyric Theatre Hammersmith. Directors Scott Graham and Steven Hoggett are the brains behind Underworld, a new piece of physical theatre featuring original music from the dance act Orbital.

The show is a contemporary ghost story teetering on the tightrope between paranoia and paranormality. The critically acclaimed duo who brain-stormed Sell Out, Hymns and Klub continue to take inspiration from dance culture and to explore the modern mind. Underworld makes a break from past Frantic shows with an all female cast, but stays true to the company's fetish for telling one story from multiple perspectives.

The show coincides with Shared Experience's new version of Mill On The Floss at the New Ambassadors, highlighting the current demand for theatre that embraces dance and music. Sandwiched between the Bollywood musical, 14 Songs Two Weddings and a Funeral and the freshly devised piece Bewilderness, Underworld confirms the Lyric as a seedbed for new talent.
