Duchess Of York the TV Reporter
- Fergie turns investigator on Trevor MacDonald's Tonight

SARAH FERGUSON, Duchess of York, is to have a career makeover as a TV reporter working for Sir Trevor MacDonald - but she won't receive any payment.

Fergie will appear as a guest reporter on Tonight, the news show hosted by Sir Trevor, this Thursday. The Duchess will be investigating obesity - a subject she is all too familiar with, having been branded 'the Duchess of Pork' because of her large figure.

ITV executives are hoping that Fergie will have an occasional reporting slot on the show. "She comes across as warm and interested and she now has quite a lot of experience from her work on American television," said a spokesperson for the show.

It won't be the first time Fergie has had a crack at working for the small screen. Previously she hosted a chat show on Sky TV but bosses pulled the plug after ratings revealed it attracted a pitiful 12,000 viewers. If the Duchess is a success on Tonight it could help rescue the profile of working royals whose business interests are currently under intense scrutiny following the Sophie Wessex scandal
