Business Strategies predict an extra UKP143 million - will be pumped into the capital's economy as people who would usually take trips to the countryside choose to visit or stay in London instead, in the wake of the animal disease. Although the foot and mouth outbreak is now past its peak, many rural areas still have the 'Keep Out' signs posted over footpaths, making an excursion to the country less attractive than usual. "London might actually enjoy a net benefit," the Business Strategies report says, a point of view backed by the London Chamber of Commerce, whose spokes[person said: "It could London a chance to shine.
