| Mouth to Mouth Woos West End - Kevin Elyot's latest transfers to the Albery Theatre KEVIN ELYOT's Mouth to Mouth transfers from The Royal Court to the Albery Theatre from May 16. The production is directed by Court artistic director Ian Rickson and stars ice queen actress Lindsay Duncan. Mouth to Mouth revisits Elyot's favourite themes of sordid secrets and unrequited homosexual longings. Michael Maloney plays the HIV positive playwright wracked with guilt at his relationship with the dead son of his best friend Laura, and the carefully crafted drama flashes back to a fateful summer of sticky family gatherings and illicit affairs. This is Elyot's second play for the Royal Court and follows his award-winning debut My Night With Reg in making the leap to a West End theatre. The play replaces A Midsummer Night's Dream, currently receiving mixed reviews and starring Dawn French, but has more in common with Caryl Churchill's critically acclaimed Far Away which transferred from the Royal Court to the Albery earlier this year. |
