Big Boss is Watching You
- Cyber-skiving targeted by kill-joy tech company

WORKERS reading this during office hours beware: your bosses may soon have the technology to spy on your on-line habits.

Cyber-skiving is seen as a huge drain on productivity and many firms already issue lists of sites banned to their employees. Now Actis Technology say their new software can increase the effectiveness of management snooping.

"We're able to configure our system to match [a company's] acceptable use policy requirements so that it will report exceptions to that acceptable use policy," explained Colin Rose, CEO at Actis, in winningly robotic style.

Recent research has reported that anything up to a third of the time employees spend on line is for non-work purposes. Some human resources experts, however, point out that cyber-skiving is merely the latest form of making life at work bearable and that private phone calls and suspiciously weak bladders cost firms at least as much as internet indulgence.
