Dome Heist Foiled Bash
- Robbers wanted diamonds, say onlookers

GUNSHOTS flashed through the air at the Dome today as a gang of would-be jewel thieves tried to bulldoze their way into the Millennium attraction.

Police intercepted the raid at around 9.00am this morning and witnesses say they heard several shots ring out before arrests were eventually made. Reports suggest the robbers used a bulldozer as part of their heist, but were foiled via a tip-off.

It is thought the robbers were keen to get their hands on diamonds exhibited at the Dome by De Beers, including the Millennium Star, reckoned to be one of the most valuable diamonds in the world.
