|Ship Hotel in 2002 Launch|
- Docklands mooring for 250 room initiative
LANDLUBBERS be warned: plans have been given the go-ahead for a floating hotel on the Thames at Docklands.
Within two years, a ship boasting 250 five-star rooms, bars and restaurants plus an exclusive river bus service, is set to be in place within spitting distance of Canary Wharf and Docklands' other major office blocks.
Developers Chromecastle also plan a museum as part of the hotel scheme.
For those budding visitors to London unwilling to wait until 2002 for a hotel with a glorious river view, LondonNet points you in the direction of the Swissotel London The Howard which overlooks the Thames at one of its most spectacular points, featuring views of the Houses of Parliament in one direction and St Paul's in another.
