- Camilla talks relationships with Archbishop
ROYAL mistress Camilla Parker-Bowles has taken the first step towards marrying Prince Charles by meeting up with the head of England's church, Archbishop of Canterbury George Carey.
Camilla has a busy time of it over the last few days. On Saturday the woman blamed by the late Princess Diana for ruining her marriage to Charles had dinner with the Queen, the first time the pair had spoken since Charles and Diana got divorced. Then Camilla had the latest in a series of six secret meetings with Carey to discuss both her link with Charles and matters of faith.
As head of the church, Carey would need to bestow his blessing in order for the long-time lovers to tie the knot. He would also probably be the man chosen to perform the ceremony.
With Charles and Camilla apparently over the twin obstacles of church (Carey) and state (Charles's mum), the only hurdle left would appear to be public opinion and that, according to recent polls, has swung heavily in favour of an early marriage.
