No Euro Until 2007
- UK could stay out of Euro currency for seven years claims survey

A NEW SURVEY claims that the United Kingdom could remain outside the Euro until 2007.

The poll conducted by Mori for bank Salomon Smith Barney found that the public was against joining by a margin of two to one. The ban concluded that this means a referendum on entry is unlikely until the commencement of a third term for the governing Labour party. This could be in 2007.

The delay in entry puts the UK on a par with European states attempting to join the European Union such as Hungary and Estonia.
