|Kids Fill Dome|
- Sold out signs go up at Greenwich
DOME bosses drew praise today after selling out the Millennium Experience for the last four days, but it is children who really deserve the plaudits for pulling off the previously unthinkable feat.
The Greenwich attraction has been at the centre of controversy since its opening at the start of this year, with crowds at about the half the level needed to make a profit. But with 100,000 visitors streaming through the Dome's doors over the past few days, organisers hope new French boss Pierre Yves-Gerbeau has helped turn things around.
"The Frenchman seems to be working miracles," said one Dome worker. Hundreds of people were turned away yesterday's after all 25,000 tickets were snapped up by midday.
In fact, the new found confidence in Dome circles owes little to any Gallic flair. Instead, it is children, on half-term holiday, and their parents who can explain the huge increase in traffic.
