Calling Cards Get the Red Light
- Government in new legal drive to ban prostitues' phone box adverts

LONDON prostitutes were dealt a blow today with the news that the government intends to crack down on the practice of pasting solicitous calling cards all over telepohone boxes.

Home Office Minister Charles Clarke plans to create a new law to tackle a problem that British Telecom says involves up to 100,000 calling cards every year in central London alone.

Previous drives to eradicate prostitute adverts have met with little success, but the government believes a new law, plus a fresh attempt to track and disengae the phone numbers used by working girls, will have the desired effect.
