Vinnie Gets Set for Gangster Flick
- Lead role in East end crime biopic for former footballer

HARDMAN Vinnie Jones has just been handed the perfect role – playing a hard knuckle boxer in a film directed by Guy Ritchie.

Jones, currently starring in car-thieving flick Gone In 60 Seconds alongside Nicolas Cage, will play Lenny Maclean, a man once regarded as the ‘hardest man in Britain.’

Maclean’s love for a punch up meant he was forever getting in trouble with the nick. He made his acting debut in Ritchie’s highly acclaimed gangster flick Lock Stock And Two Smoking Barrels but died shortly after from a cancer related illness.

The film is the Ritchie’s third East end gangster movie, after Lock Stock.. and Snatch.
Whether it will catapult former striker Jones to stardom remains to be seen. But producer Clinton Montague has no doubts: “ This role will be for Vinnie what James Bond was for Sean Connery – a perfect movie marriage. This is what he’ll be remembered for, and I know he believes that too.”
