StakeholdersWith many of London's big spenders ushering in ideas and fiscal support, the London 2012 stakeholders are widespread and varied.
Three Key Stakeholders
- The British Olympic Association - who began their haggling for the London 2012 Olympics in 1997.
- Mayor of London - Ken Livingstone said, "If the bid is successful it will bring enormous long term benefits to all parts of London , including 10,000 permanent jobs, 9,000 new homes and long-term expansion and modernisation of the transport system."
- The Government - London 2012 boasts the total support of the government, and The Department of Culture Media and Sport stated that the bid "will be central to our efforts to increase physical activity, and identify, nurture and develop talent in our young and up-and-coming athletes."
Other Stakeholders
- London Development Agency - a subsidiary of the Mayor of London, the LDA is putting UKP15 million toward the games, promising to revive the heavily neglected Lower Lea Valley
