We Say: If Claridge's is the hotel in London, its bar certainly lives up to its prestige. Claridge's Bar, a charming art deco-style nook in Mayfair, offers access to a selection of the finest champagne, cocktails and cigars in one of the capital's most sophisticated settings.

Sit at the red leather banquette or at a more intimate corner table, where you can sip a deliciously inventive martini for around £11.50. The bar also stocks an impressive range of vintage and rare alcohol, along with plenty of champagne.

If you're hungry, the bar food menu is available from noon to 11pm. With choices including lobster sandwiches, sushi and warm roast lamb, you'll easily find something to please your palate.

Claridge's Bar can make for an expensive night out, but expect to be treated well--the service is impeccable. Visit anytime between noon and 1 am Monday to Saturday and from 4pm to midnight each Sunday, and be sure to abide by the "smart casual" dress code.
