A young boy called Yugi becomes fixated on the popular card game Duel Monsters. He plays it morning, noon and night, unaware that the game can unleash ancient mystical energies with the potential to change the course of history. Far away, below the sands of Egypt, the evil Anubis re-awakens, many centuries after defeat at the hands of Yugi’s enigmatic alter ego, the Pharaoh.
