Acerbic Los Angeles critic Morf Vandewalt is searching for the next artistic sensation to prize open wallets of the city’s wealthiest collectors. Morf’s assistant Josephina answers his call by delivering a collection of deeply disturbing paintings, stolen from a dead hermit. The works beguile gallery owner Rhodora Haze, who made her name in a punk band during the 1970s. The subsequent media interest threatens to dethrone Piers as the world’s most lucrative contemporary artist.
