The year is 1962 and stockbroker Jean-Louis Joubert has scant joy in his life. By chance, he strays up to the sixth floor of his building where he encounters his family’s maids including Carmen and Concepcion. The husband is particularly smitten with new arrival Maria, whose lust for life is a revelation and an inspiration. The boundless joy of the maids is a tonic and gradually brings Jean-Louis out of his shell.
