The Violators

On a rundown council housing estate in Birkenhead, 16-year-old Shelly reluctantly takes charge of her two brothers, Andy and teenager Jerome, in the absence of their father, who is behind bars. As the woman of the house, Shelly strains every sinew to keep the wolves from the door even if that means accepting occasional handouts from pawn shop worker Mikey. Unexpectedly, a teenager called Rachel befriends Shelly and generously offers some of her clothes as a token of her affection.
