The 2nd Earl of Rochester, friend and confidant of King Charles II, is the scourge of London, winning the admiration of men and women alike for his daring sexual escapades and rapier-like wit. The Earl’s downfall begins when he falls under the spell of struggling actress Elizabeth Barry, to the dismay of his heiress wife Elizabeth Malet.
