The King Is Alive (15)

The fourth film made under the Dogme95 manifesto, about a troupe of European and American tourists stranded in the Namibian desert, who decide to amuse themselves by staging a version of King Lear, rewritten from memory by a retired actor. As loneliness and irritation get the better of the company, so the emotions of Shakespeare’s play unleash a torrent of violence, lust, grief, madness and murder.
