In 2011, during the tour for his book The Map And The Territory, famously reclusive novelist Michel Houllebecq vanished without trace and his disappearance. Various theories spread like wildfire. In this comedy drama, three bumbling kidnappers – ringleader Luc and hapless sidekicks Mathieu and Maxime – steal the writer away from his promotional tour and hide him in a remote location. In this rural retreat, Houllebecq savours his break from reality and forms an unlikely bond with his captors.
