Fourteen-year-old Pio Amato is desperate to follow in the footsteps of his older brother Cosimo and mimics his sibling’s behaviour by drinking and smoking. By virtue of his age, Pio is one of the few members of his family who is allowed to move freely between the regions’ warring factions.
