The Case Against 8

In November 2008, the state of California passed Proposition 8 – an amendment to the state’s constitution, which banned same-sex marriages. California Supreme Court subsequently ruled that Prop 8 was constitutional, sparking fierce debate across the state and the whole of America. In this documentary, two gay couples – Kris Perry and Sandy Stier, and Jeff Zarrillo and Paul Katami – take the first federal marriage equality lawsuit to the US Supreme Court in an effort to overturn the decision.
