The middle chapter of The Australian Ballet’s trilogy of performances dubbed The Fairy Tale Series draws inspiration from the glamour of 1940s Hollywood to put a new spin on the rags-to-riches love story. The production is distinguished by Alexei Ratmansky’s choreography and Jerome Kaplan’s striking costume and set designs. Set to Prokofiev’s lush score, the storyline centres on hard-working Cinderella, who dreams of attending an opulent ball thrown by the dashing Prince.
