Money-grabbing Las Vegas magician and illusionist Buddy “Aces” Israel aligns himself with the Mob, becoming a friend and confidant to boss Primo Sparazza. When the FBI successfully persuades Aces to turn federal witness against Sparazza, the kingpin retaliates by putting out a contract on his one-time friend. While an array of hit men and women descend upon the hotel in Tahoe where Aces is in hiding, FBI agents Carruthers and Messner have the unenviable job of keeping their star witness alive.
