All Rights Reserved.George Melies' A Trip to the Moon (1902) marked the start of movie sci-fi and there's been no looking back since, though Melies' space travellers did, in fact, look back at planet Earth. That's the clue. Whatever strange worlds and mutilated aliens they throw on the screen, the idea is that it is in other worlds that we see ourselves best. Not saying you look like Yoda out of Star Wars, honest.
