Reporter Reiko Asakawa hears stories of a videotape which supposedly kills the viewer exactly seven days after they have seen it. Sceptical at first, Reiko soon comes to believe in the myth when her niece Tomoko and a friend both pass away exactly one week after seeing the mysterious tape. Viewing it for herself, Reiko becomes aware of strange forces about and within her, and teams up with her former husband to prevent the same grisly fate befalling her as well.
