During a thunderstorm, a travelling circus accidentally leaves behind a baby zebra, who is discovered by horse farmer Nolan Walsh. The kind widower takes the foal home to his Kentucky homestead where he trains the zebra to become a champion racehorse, with the help of his aspiring jockey daughter Channing, grumpy Shetland pony Tucker and wise old goat Franny.
