Power In Our Hands (Subtitled) (PG)

Released to coincide with the 125th anniversary year of the British Deaf Association, this documentary celebrates the history and heritage of the Deaf community in the UK through archive footage and contemporary interviews, which chronicle the fight for civil rights and the basic right to be heard. In particular, the film illuminates the tireless campaign for the recognition of British Sign Language and how the community claimed the word Deaf a proud expression of cultural identity.
