Raised by his Russian immigrant mother, Bobby Fischer turns to chess to calm his nerves. He becomes the world’s youngest grand master but paranoia destroys his focus and he retreats from the game. Thankfully, he is gifted a second chance at success and he pairs up with former World Junior Chess Champion William Lombardy to prove to himself that it is possible for a non-Soviet player to win the World Chess Championship.
