Award-winning South African director Yael Farber turns the biblical story on its head by placing a girl called Salome at the centre of a revolution in this European premiere of her radical revision of Oscar Wilde’s play. Broadcast live from the stage of the National Theatre in London, this Salome is a radical, determined to sow the seeds of uprising against the oppressive Roman occupation by demanding the head of a prophet called Jokanaan.
