Marshall (15)

In the 1940s, defence attorney Thurgood Marshall is asked to represent a black man called Joseph Spell, who stands accused of raping and murdering his wealthy employer, Eleanor Sturbing. Spell pleads his innocence but in the racially divided community of Bridgeport, Connecticut, a guilty verdict is almost assured. Jewish white lawyer Sam Friedman is also asked to defend Spell and he works alongside Marshall to build a case for the accused.
