Rebecca lives on the outskirts of Reading with her mother and is a legal guardian to her young brother. She works in town in a sales office, where everyone expects socially awkward manager Steve to fire her. Instead, they spark an unexpected romance, which they continue in secret outside of the office so as not to arouse the suspicions of Rebecca’s catty workmate Carly or inquisitive office secretary Vicki.
