Shy, sweet-natured cookware sales clerk Georgia Byrd is a wizard in the kitchen, renowned for her sumptuous dinners. Fate deals her a cruel blow when she is diagnosed with inoperable brain tumours. Determined to go out in style, Georgia resigns from her job in New Orleans and uses all of her savings to fly to Karlovy Vary in the Czech Republic, staying in the luxurious Grand Hotel Pupp, where Chef Didier works his culinary magic in the kitchens. Georgia dazzles the staff with her lust for life and her energy, but they do not know how little time she has left.
